GOLDEN PLAINS COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
Borger, TX
ProjX designed a replacement, ground-up, 25-Bed Critical Access Hospital that was able to obtain 100% USDA financing. This is the first hospital in the nation to be funded by USDA, instead of guaranteed by them. The project came in $200,000 under budget and was delivered in 11 months of construction. Because of the savings, and the need to utilize the funds allotted by USDA, a Rural Health Clinic was designed and constructed on the new campus.
After a successful start to the hospital, the ADC declined and the hospital directors contacted ProjX for assistance on ways to increase their revenue. In answer to community needs, ProjX designed an Outpatient Geri-Psych program in previous Administration space. The repurposing of the space saved thousands of dollars and months of time in construction. The program was an immediate success with a full census and waiting list.
The hospital has now determined that expanding the Geri-Psych program to inpatient is a good strategic move and has asked ProjX to design space that meets all applicable guidelines and codes, either adjacent to or within hospital space. ProjX has designed several concepts and reviewed them in person with the Texas Department of Health.
